Re: Tutorial series on audio game programming available

2017-07-21 Thread Oriol Gómez
Hi.
Podcast 8 in your playlist is set to private is this intentional?
the one after ambient sounds and before time intervals 2.
We can't get the title nor contents because its private, how strange.

Cheers and congrats on a great tutorial.

Yeah good practise,

I have multiple installers on a 128 GB ssd usb 3 drive which I use for work,

I've got 10.9, 10.10, 10.11, and 10.12 all setup on there as installers and
then Yosemite as a full installation os to use for other diagnostics on
machines.

I download a new installer each time but I do not do the clean install
route each time. I keep each installer and recreate the USB installer with the
newest OS update. When High Sierra is released in the fall, I will do the clean
install.

I may do a clean install with 10.12.6 on an external drive and compare
performance. But I doubt I will do this with the Mac since we are only two
months away from a new OS.

Yes but no,

You don't have to update your installer,

If you use the older installer then you just have to run updates once you have
installed the default OS.

But it is a good practise to update the USB installer when the new OS version
is released, that way you keep up to date with things.
Which reminds me I'll have to download the new sierra today

Hi,

That’s what I thought. I will be working on this over the weekend. I will
report back if I have any problems. I was always under the impression that
with the mac os installer, you had to redownload it everytime a mac os uopdate
was released for example, if you had 10.12.5 and then upgraded to the latesed
then you reformatted and installed you had to update the system each time
because if you used the usb installer, you were using an older installer. Is
this still the case?

Thanks again for your help.

RE: How about that Watch OS 3.2.3 update?

2017-07-21 Thread Simon Fogarty
Yeah

Anyone out there want a series 1 watch?

42 mm space grey,
Not used for 10 months since I got the series 2,
And probably later this year I'll be looking for a series 3 if it's released.

I'll also be looking to sell my 7+ 128gb
Always looking to update to the later models.

Lenron, there probably will be one. I think the watch sells more units than
people, especially financial analysts realize. So I’d expect a series 3. It’s
a tough time of year right now because new stuff is coming out possibly but
you’re not sure what move to make.

I like the series 2. I have the steel version with this metal band that locks
with a magnet. It’s pretty comfortable to wear. jIt has a dual core processor
so it runs a bit faster than old versions of the series 1. I believe the same
processor is available in both now I read something about that I think on this
list. The newer has a GPS chip and water proofing but really both versions are
pretty similar.

You’d like it though.

Apple has it all over all the other companies the it comes to watches.
Accessibility in other devices like android wear or the Gear S models is pretty
pitiful.

The watch seems far more responsive, screen sensitivity seems more

series 2 Steel 42MM watch in this example.

Are you sure?

podcasts 1 and 2 are up now. Podcast 3 is on the way. And you can also download
the projects used for them on those pages.

Here they are:

https://www.oseyeris.com/post/3d-game-podcast-1-your-first-game

https://www.oseyeris.com/post/3d-game-podcast-2-getting-your-basic-game-controls

Also, can you just check to see if the website has updated on your machine?
Just go to www.oseyeris.com and click on the lab.

Cheers,

Reading Web Braille Files?

2017-07-21 Thread Eileen Scrivani

Is there anyone who can tell me the directions for how to open & read a Web

I’ve never done it before and would like to read something without having to
lug or store a large Braille book.

Thanks for your help.

Re: Question regarding mac os installer.

2017-07-21 Thread E.T.
I download a new installer each time but I do not do the clean
install route each time. I keep each installer and recreate the USB
installer with the newest OS update. When High Sierra is released in the
fall, I will do the clean install.

I may do a clean install with 10.12.6 on an external drive and
compare performance. But I doubt I will do this with the Mac since we
are only two months away from a new OS.

Re: How about that Watch OS 3.2.3 update?

2017-07-21 Thread Scott Granados

Accessibility in other devices like android wear or the Gear S models is pretty
pitiful.

Steel 42MM watch in this example.

Are you sure?

podcasts 1 and 2 are up now. Podcast 3 is on the way. And you can also download
the projects used for them on those pages.

Here they are:

https://www.oseyeris.com/post/3d-game-podcast-1-your-first-game

https://www.oseyeris.com/post/3d-game-podcast-2-getting-your-basic-game-controls

Also, can you just check to see if the website has updated on your machine?
Just go to www.oseyeris.com and click on the lab.

Cheers,

I’m not seeing as big a difference, though admittedly I do see a tad more
responsiveness but I’m running an Original which is getting progressively
slower and slower.

Re: Tutorial series on audio game programming available

Hey Oriol,

Sorry to hear that the playlist is random instead of sequential. I'll ask my
web monkey now.

Which podcast are you trying to follow?

Cheers,

 Hi Everyone,

I'm the software dev from OSeyeris, and I'm happy to present you a
tutorial series I have started that will help you create and code your
own 3D binaural experiences using swift, playground and Xcode.

I have tried to broaden the audience as much as possible, from those who
wish to understand code more to those who already have advanced
 knowledge.

Our podcast series are in youtube video format but the example code for
each tutorial is available on our website.

Here is the link to the intro video where I demonstrate a fully featured
3D audio game we are working on and hoping to release soon as a set of
applications to play and start creating your own immersive world. We are
also currently beta testing thee engine with a local school for special
needs and the response has been overwhelmingly positive.

If you go through the lab page, this is where all the tutorials and their
associated files and youtube videos will reside.

I will be posting 18 videos in total, starting from the basics and
ramping up progressively to more interesting features such as A.I
behavior, networking for multiplay, audio engine filters and accoustics,
direct recording and playback as well as some SegueWay videos on some
coding concepts to make your code and 3D application more efficient.

Finally, as I have started this series, the format might need some
improvements, so please don't hesitate to contact me and tell me your
thoughts or how you would like the tutorials to go forward.

Also, if you already have some swift knowledge, contact me and maybe we
can work together to complete the platform as it includes many many
features, and is not limited to playing games but has applications in
education, audio editing and virtual audio reality. It can be hosted on
OSX, IOS, appleTV and can also be controlled with a Leap motion infrared
controller. I will release a video very shortly with a demonstration of
the Leap motion which can capture 3D volumetric information of your
 hands.

Let's do this guys, and have a fantastic end of weekend :)

RE: Question regarding mac os installer.

2017-07-21 Thread Simon Fogarty
Hi Matthew,

If you use a USB installer media then you can start up to that USB device and
then under the utilities choose the disk utilitiy tool and wipe the HD by
either formatting or partitioning the drive.

Then start the installation and do what you need to.
