Re: Internet Radio Broadcasting on the Mac
Hi there. I am using NiceCast with vlc for my radio broadcasting needs. Unfortunately, the voice over plugin doesn’t work as expected. However, I am sure that the first few times I tried it the music volume was going down when the mic was on. There must be an accessibility bug somewhere that prevent us to control the voice over plugin. Right now what I am doing is to turn the mic on, and then lower the music manually as I speak from the vlc window with command “ down arrow. Then I race the volume up with command + up arrow and turn the mic on from the voice over window. I know this is not an ideal solution but that’s what I am doing until something better comes up. I also tried Djpro but the mic doesn’t work there correctly also. Regards. Internet Radio Broadcasting on the Mac
Hi everyone, Has any new developments been made or are being made on this front? I want to do a show using NiceCast and iTunes, if only so I can broadcast Apple Music. I figured I can use a playlist I made for talk beds, but NiceCast’s VoiceOver plugin in the effects area for auto ducking is a joke. All it did was turn the voice on and ducked a bit but the music was still blasting over my voice. I shouldn’t need a mixer to control mic volume at this simple level. Of course I could just forego beds, which I’ll probably do, but then the quality of my show degrades. Really all I need is a way to duck that’s better than that failure of a NiceCast plugin. I know Gordan from the now defunked Mac Access was doing something with MegaSeg, but not sure how to contact him or what even happened to that site. Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks. -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list. Hi everyone. Is there an Internet broadcasting solution available for the Mac which affords similar voiceover accessibility using both speech and Braille to station playlist studio with the Jaws scrips on the PC? Hi. In addition to the previous posters message, yes, Nicest is accessible, but there are some parts that require some vision to set up if you intend on bring applications like Skype into the mix. For $59.99, it’s a decent solution, though. On Aug 5, 2015, at 1:52 PM, Chris challswor...@icloud.com wrote: Try Nicecast from Rogue Amoeba. Haven't tried it myself but should do what you want. Re: Broadcasting on the mac.
I've never used that app, but I have Audio Hijack from the same company. They made a huge effort to support VoiceOver in this year's major Audio Hijack update, and their email-based tech support is wonderful. All I'm saying is they seem to be a company dedicated to supporting VoiceOver on the Mac, and they offer good support. Based solely on Audio Hijack, I would recommend them so long as they've gotten around to making the app you want accessible. They'll probably tell you the status of accessibility support for any app in which you're interested before you buy, too. On Aug 5, 2015, at 2:53 PM, Daniel Miller miller...@gmail.com wrote: Hi. Re: Broadcasting on the mac.
Hi, I have to disagree with the people who suggested Nicecast as an alternative to Station playlist. In my opinion Nicecast doesn’t even come close. When i looked at it it was clumcy and complicated. You had no cart machines at all and the setting up went way, way, way, way over my thick head, but then again it doesn’t say anything since i think Workflow for iOs is way to complicated for me. There is a solution called Radiologik, which consists of a dj software like Station playlist studio and a playlist creator. Almost everything in Radiologik is accessible, everything except the part that means anything, that is playlists. Voiceover can’t see the list of songs or upcoming jingles if any so you don’t know what you’re playing and you can’t add songs to the program except via Itunes, in my opinion a not so good solution if you want to quickly find a requested song. If you want to do shows with carts and such, either forget Radiologik or write the developer and ask for everything in the app to be accessible. /Krister 5 aug. 2015 kl. 20:52 skrev Chris challswor...@icloud.com: Try Nicecast from Rogue Amoeba. Hi, Some use Nicecast for this, but i personally never got the hang of that software, it looked far too complicated for me. There’s another application that looks promising called RadioLogik but unfortunately it’s not so accessible that we can use it with great effectivity. Me if i ever get my broadcasting project off the ground i’ll be using Station Playlist Studio from a virtual machine. It’s by far the easiest to use. /Krister 14 dec 2013 kl. 07:35 skrev May and Noah mcdonald@gmail.com: Hey everyone. Curious. Re: shout cast broadcasting on the mac?
Hello Mauricio, To add to what Ray said, you can find most Mac software by adding MacUpdate along with the name of the software to a Google search because the macupdate.com web site contains listings for most Mac software. This site uses a standard layout format with a brief description of the software, whether it is paid or free, the latest version and links to both the download for the app and the home page maintained by the developer, and the system requirement, if any. This can be very helpful, because even if you have the URL for an application, finding the same information concisely stated, or trying to navigate to the download link can sometimes be difficult. In addition, some apps, even those that are sold both at the Mac App store and from the developer's web page may have free, trial downloads that you cannot access from the Mac App Store, and this information will be listed at MacUpdate's site. (The reason for this is that developers are not allowed to put apps up on the Mac App store that stop working unless the user pays more money at a later time. They can develop and offer a lite, trial version of their app, but that takes more work, and many developers will not do this.) In addition, you can read suggestions for alternative apps with similar functions, and users can post comments or short reviews on the application on the Macupdate page for an app. I'll just repeat the link Ray gave to the Nicecast trial download at Rogue Amoeba's web pages, since his link will not work from the Mail Archive pages or the Google Groups web pages -- only from emails: http://www.rogueamoeba.com/nicecast/ HTH. Nope. NiceCast will broadcast any audio from your Mac. However, it doesn't have awesome features like Station Playlist, like being able to talk with music over yourself without your screen reader coming through. However, it doesn't have awesome features like Station Playlist, like being able to talk with music over yourself without your screen reader coming through. Not to mention an awesome crossfader that kills iTunes crossfader. Note that you can talk over beds with NiceCast, if you were sighted and could use effects, but we can't do that now as blind people. - Original Message - From: joe quinn To: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com Sent: Sunday, December 05, 2010 5:29 PM Subject: broadcasting on the mac? question for ya guys... how do you broadcast on the mac? do ya boot into windows, then use Station Playlist? i assume that's what occurs, cause, to my knowledge, (which, is limited, as it is with most things), there's not really a way to broadcast on the mac, I don't think. there's nicecast, but, i thought that just broadcasts your ITuens library. __ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 5513 (20101007) __ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com __ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 5513 (20101007) __ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups MacVisionaries group. broadcasting on a mac
Hello everyone, i wonder if any of you have experience broadcasting from a mac? (possibly even using your mac as the server) in combination with snow leopard. I know that nicecast is there but I am not sure if its its own server and if it works with sl. Are there any other possibilities?
