I had a swollen battery on my late 2013 vintage Macbook Air (11-inch) a couple years ago. The battery had swollen so much the lid wouldn't close. The Apple store replaced the old battery and I've not had an issue since. My total cost was just over $200 as I recall. Best, Janina Traci Duncan

Hi, Yes, that sounds like a swolen battery. From a safety prospective, you should not even be plugging it in anymore, as it is at risk of bursting. I’m doubtful that you’ll be able to find a battery for that age of MacBook Air. It’s certainly worth taking it in to an authorized Apple
