Re: Can't we use iCloud instead of dropbox?

Hi,

My understanding of it all is in accord with Alex. If you would prefer to not
use up space on your local machine, then pCloud is likely a good option.

Re: Can't we use iCloud instead of dropbox?

2017-08-10 Thread Alex Hall
First, the main feature Dropbox has over iCloud right now is sharing. In
Dropbox, you can share public links to files, but you can also collaborate on
folders, letting anyone you invite see or edit folder contents. To my
knowledge, iCloud Drive still can’t do that, though you can collaborate on
individual files so long as everyone uses Apple’s editors to modify them.

As to disk space, iCloud Drive still takes up space. As far as I know, you
can’t decide to not download content. Your drive will sync to every physical
machine until it’s fully synced or the disk is full. Again, as with sharing, I
could be mistaken here.

Why not use networking features and share the drives so you can copy from one

move files between the platforms. Just another way to think about the problem

you can use iCloud drive on the mac by hitting command shift i, that
puts you in your icloud folder which is backed up to the network and
doesn't use space on your hd

Can't we use iCloud instead of dropbox?

2017-08-10 Thread Ramy Moustafa
Hi all:

While i was using windows, all my documents were be on my dropbox, and when
converting to mac, i’m still using the same way ignorer to be able to open all
my documents through my computers, but now my Studio HD is so small and i don’t
want to spend my HD size on my dropbox files, so, am using the dropbox just on
my Laptop.
i was thinking to use my iCloud to sync my documents between my mac and my
studio hd,
is there a way to use the iCloud as a drive not through the apps? because most
of my documents were written on windows without using he text edit or something.
or do you have any other suggestion?
Thanks in advance
