I am assuming this comes down to the various ways that people carry out tasks on the Mac. I simply expand conversations with the right arrow and open any message I want to read. I use VO-j at times, but do not have problems with it. What Mavericks did fix is the use of the tab key. This

I use enter to open messages too. I hate to have mail marked as read when I arrow past it, so I completely closed the preview pane. Therefore, vo-j will do nothing, since it just jumps to that pane. The disclosure triangle thing is still present. Basically, you hear x message conversation

Hi John. I see Alex has already answered on the collapsed disclosure triangle annoyance. You can get around it by setting verbosity to low, but then you miss badge information, and if you use an activity to narrow low verbosity to Mail, those of us who don't use Alex run into the delay bug

Oh right, low verbosity. I said high for some reason. Yes, in 10.9.2 you would hit a very annoying delay if you used app-specific activities. I haven't tested that in this release, but in the beta, the delay was still present. All I can say is: keep emailing accessibil...@apple.com and
