Re: Not Seeing Documents in iCloud Drive

2016-09-22 Thread Tim Kilburn
OK, that's good. A couple things to note. Stuff that is on your iCloud Drive
remains in your iCloud Drive even if you turn off the service on either your
Mac or iDevice. What you're essentially doing is just severing that computer's
connection to the data. If you choose "Remove from Mac", then all that happens
is that your iCloud data is removed from that Mac but it is retained in
Apple-land in iCloud Drive. I use this process all the time for teachers in
our District. I encourage them to save all important data to the Cloud, in
Google Drive etc, then if I need to swap out their computer, or if it dies,
they can simply connect to the Cloud service and all their important data is
brought back down in no time.

HTH.

Re: Not Seeing Documents in iCloud Drive

2016-09-22 Thread Brandon A. Olivares
Hi,

Restarting didn’t help.

It won’t let me disable iCloud Drive. When I try, I get this message:

If you turn off iCloud Drive, all documents stored in iCloud will be removed
from this Mac. This includes documents on your Desktop and in your Documents
folder which will be available on iCloud Drive only.

I get two options: Keep a Copy, or Remove from Mac.

If I hit Keep a Copy, it says:

Your documents will be downloaded and copied to a folder named “iCloud Drive
(Archive)” in your home folder on this Mac.

I don’t think I want that to happen. Also not sure if I want to hit “Remove
from Mac”.

Also it says this:

Uploading 2,462 items (408 KB of 1.95 GB)

But I’ve accessed this dialog a few times, and it seems to be stuck at 408 KB.
So maybe this is why it’s not showing up? Not sure how to get it unstuck though.

Re: Not Seeing Documents in iCloud Drive

2016-09-22 Thread Tim Kilburn
hi,

I'd first restart your iDevice, then wait a few minutes after it's started up
to allow it to sync, then check. If that doesn't fix things, go into iCloud in
settings and turn off iCloud Drive, back out of settings then go in again and
re-enable it. All iCloud data is stored up in the Cloud anyway, so loss of
data won't happen.
