Integration of the Festival Text to speech engine as an optional component, with hooks into the RSS feed reader and mail client would be nice - that way you could download an RSS feed and have it read to you while you are doing something else. Integration of a calendaring app (e.g. GPE) with

[maemo-users] IT2006 mail client - are IMAP folders supported

2006-06-19 Thread David D. Hagood
I haven't yet tried the 2006 release (as I am waiting for VNC to be ported), so I cannot directly answer this question for myself - are subfolders now supported in the IMAP side of the mail client? Rant { I know that this feature was requested multiple times on the Maemo bugzilla but each

[maemo-users] JFFS errors on rootfs - how to fix

2006-04-25 Thread David D. Hagood
I've noticed my Nokia rebooting a lot more than I think it should - even rebooting in the middle of the night, with its cover on and (theoretically) idle. I've looking in the dmesg log and I am seeing a lot of Inode # was a directory with children - removing those too... as well as

[maemo-users] Adding swap make system *LESS* stable

2006-01-26 Thread David D. Hagood
It seems to me that adding a 20M swap file makes my Nokia *less* stable, not more. I've tried both swap files on a MMC card as well as swap partitions, and in both cases it seems that I am more likely to crash the browser with swap enabled than with swap disabled. Has anybody else seen this?
