It still needs to be checked if it also happens in 1.5 as apparently it
happens in 1.6.
I think this is a bug that should be included in an upcoming minor point
release for all supported versions.

This is some sort of regression I would say because this didn't happen
before. I could confirm this on demo.mahara.org. I had multiple journals
and the checkmark for Multiple journals was greyed out since I had
more than one journal. Upon saving the settings (changed no settings),
the checkmark
