Because it is the only workaround provided by my company. My company
uses Exchange server, which provides IMAP service via
outlook.office365.com. My guess is that outlook.office365.com has both
IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, but my company internal Exchange server only
has IPv4

Why would you want to disable this, if the service you are connecting
(IMAP of your company) doesn't support IPv6, it would (should) not have
an IPv6 address entry in DNS. So if Mailmate would lookup the IP address
for imap.example.com it would only get an IPv4 address and connect only
