I don't think that MapX programers have to write their own import export
routines..
If MapInfo Team had writen this routines for MapInfo they must include same
code MapX like
mytable = MifImport(Mif_Filename,Tab_Name)
Which is logical?
- 100's of people will try to write same (similar code) (
Hello Every One,
I apologize if these questions have been answered number of times before.
I use MapInfo Professional Version 5.0, Windows working group as operating
system for digitizing, Sumagraphic Microgrid III 16 button digitizer and
Virtual Tablet Version 2.12 interface software.

Ahmet,
If one follows that logic, why shouldn't every little thing in MI Pro be
included in MapX as well ?
MapX is NOT MapInfo Pro, and as such, one can't reasonably expect that all
MI Pro functionality is included.
Mif/Mid has absolutely nothing to do with MapX, no more than e.g. DXF has.
Hi all,
I am talking the lazy way out of solving a problem.
I have map layer of local geographical boundaries (DED's) which
contain population, area, and id columns.
I want to create a thematic map showing population density per sq mile
over a range of values for each DED.
Do I need to
Yes, here's one I made earlier:
In step 2 of Create Thematic Map choose the field selection "Expression" at
the bottom of the list.
Use the expression: population / area
In a large rural areas with low pop densities, you may have to use a
modified expression to get 'comfortable' figures for
I can think of two possible solutions:
1 Create a buffer around you lines, with the width based on a field in your
table.
or
2. If you are using MapInfo with the line width specified in points, I think
you can set the width based on a field (either native to MapInfo or via an
MBX).

Hi Vinesh,
If I understand you correctly, you would like to subtract 100 from column A
Then I would use
TableUpdate Column
with the expression
ColA = 100 - ColA

Dear List,
I'm afraid I've got another problem with maps exported as .wmf files. This
time the problem lies with complex polygons.
I've found that when polygons with one or more gaps in them are saved as
.wmf files, the exported polygon has a continuous edge that includes all the
gaps. In

I am looking for information on using the Informix Spatial Datablade with

Hello all,
I'm posting this here since I haven't gotten a response from Tech

Thanks,

Hi,
I think this is a simple question; not sure. Any thoughts or ideas would be

Actually, the problem isn't the mail server. The guy keeps misspelling,
"unsbscribe" and I have often told him that the proper spelling is,
"unsubscribe" yet he chose not to listen to us. To this point, I set up a
mail filter that automatically reply to him the proper wording.

Terry,
The Polyhedric is a very old projection used mainly in the 19th Century. It is
a sheet-by-sheet sort of thing, where adjoining sheets are individual and
separate projections. The graticule fits together more or less when you attempt
to paste two or more sheets together, but trying many

Yes, I think so. When we need to handle more records than that number, we
convert data on Excel97 onto Access97. And it works well.
