Dear Sir/Madam,
I'm a research student from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. I've
encountered a problem in MapBasic about the font. Would there be anyone
who can solve it for me?
Right now I'm using MapInfo 5.0 MapBasic 5.0 to search some text (e.g.
street name) from the map and change
Hello John
This may not be such a big problem:
1) Delete any index'es (*.IND)
2) Rename *.DAT to *.DBF
3) Open the DBF's with a DBF-viewer (see http://www.legendsoft.com/, look
for freeware edition)
4) Now inspect the field types and create your TAB-file manually
DBF doesn't support the same
Hi Peter,
Your code example is OK, but 'startfarve' and
'slutfarve' are not variables, they are constants
and I can't modify their values.
In fact, I try to set style values from a
database
and I need to use variables ...
Thanks for your help, Peter.

Jennifer,
Thanks for the advice, I've already had some other people working
along the same lines. My problem is that we have is that the user
has to select the table they wish to import, so the table name,
column numbers and names are variable.
I've constructed a table which shows each
Hello all,
I have a question concerning the creation of polygons.
In the first table I have polylines and lines with attributes left
and right.(e.g. zip code right and zip code left)
My aim is to create a new table with polygons and the information
of the resulting area (zip code).

I endorse the "left handed mouse" approach. I'm right handed. Two years
ago I was suffering from RSI in my right arm, then I broke my arm badly. I
was forced to switch my mouse to my left hand, and have never switched back.
I no longer suffer RSI in my right arm.
One additional point: I kept
Greetings,
I thought this would be a smaller problem than it is turning out to be.
There is a bug in the MI 5.0 CentroidX, CentroidY and Centroid commands
that returns, not the region centroid, but rather a corner point. I've
noticed this both in region objects and in grids I've created

Right now I'm using MapInfo 5.0 MapBasic 5.0 to search some text (e.g.

the style, font color and background color for me but it couldn't change

Howdy,
When geocoding to streets, any address with apartments or
lots takes a manual ok to geocode. Is there any way or .mbx
to let MapInfo do this where the address matches?

Thanks to all,
In case anyone else was wondering what the solution to this problem was.
I was able to unzip the files by changing a setting in Winzip (the TAR CR/LF
toggle under Misc. options) and then selecting dem as the file extension.

Is it possible to issue multiple commands on a single line? If so, what is
the command line separator character? The following might be an example:
I = 1 : X = 3 : Select * From MyTable Where MyColumn = X
I'm just curious because it may save a little space on a printout of my

Hi,
It's an even smaller problem than describes by Uffe.
In MapInfo:
File Open Table...
Select FiletypesDBF
In the Filename enter *.dat og hit Enter
Go to the directory where your *.dat file without the Tab file is found.
Select the *.dat file and voila...
MapInfo automatically created the
I have hear rumor that it is possible to perform reverse geocoding
(given a lat/long return the nearest street address) using the MapMarker
Geocoder API with a little bit of programming. Is anyone aware of this
process, and, if so, can anyone shed some light on how this might be
done?
Thanks,
Saw this go over the list for ArcView. Sounds like a problem is brewing for
