I am testing the add column statement in
Mapbasicwith MapInfo 5.5.
I am simply adding a temporairy column to a table
that is based on an valid expression like this:
Add column theTable(Temp Char(100)) From theTable Set to COL1+"
TEST"
Where theTable is the name of the
table.
This statement
currently in the process of completing an SVG export utility (in 100%
MapBasic)
that does support exporting layers with colors gradients, filter effects and
interactivity.

Hi All,
I am currently testing MapInfo 5.5 and 6.0 with
Oracle 8.1.6 for a project
feasibility study and have a few
questions:
I believe MapInfo Professional 6.0 does not support
all of the additional
geometry types of the object-relational model in
Oracle 8.1.6 ?(Oracle 8.1.6 supports

This has to besimple !
I am just trying to figure out if a text object
textstring (returned by ObjectInfo(obj,
OBJ_INFO_TEXTSTRING) has carriage returns.
Is there an easy way aside from looping through all
characters and checking for carriage returns by converting each character using
ASC()
most fonts, projections, etc. ?
Thanks !
That goose is a tough one !
A semi-frustrated hunter,
Dany

Hi Jacques / All,
Here's some thoughts on this new existing
technology...
Mapping represents a perfect
implementation of SVG, where a map is by nature a vector layered
representation of the earth.Naturally, the SVG specification allows the same
layering concepts that are so crucial to any
MapX if
you have it has built-in functions to convert map coordinates to image
coordinates.
Take a look at the following example for more info on the results and the
format of client-side image maps:

Currently, the only way to display vector
datadirectly in both IE and Netscape is to use java applets.
Both MapXtreme NT and Java canuse java
applets to deliver vector on the client.Everything is a matter of setting
your server application accordingly.

Dear fellow mappers,
We have just completed an interesting internet
mapping application for Canada, including national topographic database at 1: 50
000 and 1: 250 000 for all major urban areas in the country (over 10 GB of
data!). The site is the Directory of
