Can anybody help with information.

I have an application that allows the automatic printing of sections of a
map. I have a grid set up and I loop through each region represented
within the grid. I re-center a second map window to cover each grid cell /
"Mapbook Page." I then open a layout based on the second window and print

I'm pretty sure the answer to this is going to be a resounding no - but just in case:
Is it possible to call back a function or procedure in Mapbasic from a DLL - by

Actually, while I'm thinking about productivity, how can you
define keyboard shortcuts? I'd really like to be able to
switch between tools with a key stroke. Similar to Illustrator
or Photoshop: S for select, Z for zoom, P for input Polygon,
etc. The mouse aerobics are hurting my wrist.
Hello All,
My question is there a way I can
use the mapinfo ole command RunMenuCommand to make a Thematic Grid?
I have been unable to find any documentation about
this new feature. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi folks,
I have just bought the digitised (scanned) historic mapping of Southampton.
It consists of 4 'snapshots' through time starting at 1836.
If I want to show the same geographic area at four different times through
history I can show each table within a different MapInfo map window.
If I
Greetings all,
Many of you are aware that Dimitri Rotow of Manifold.net has recently

addition to this he has graciously provided The GeoCommunity with this

Hello again,
Thanks to all who responded to my posting on the DWG to TAB translation problems I

results.

Richard,
To get the hwnd for MI Dialog you have to loop through all child windows of MI window
and find the the MDIClient window (for example by using GetClassName API). Then loop
again through child windows of MDIClient and one of those is your Dialog window.

I love this list! Thanks Anssi Joutsiniemi, Chris Martin and John Harrop for
taking the time to help me out. Chris you actually hit the nail on the head
without realising it - 'GetForegroundWindow' was the API function I needed

I am trying to locate details of a Transverse Mercator grid used widely in

Hi all,
Hope you had a great holiday season.
I'm back at work for three days and stuck already!
I would like to know how to delete a text object from a layout if it has a

I have checked out the archives and picked up some hints but am still

Is anyone aware of a Mapbasic utility for breaking a polyline between nodes
into two separate lines? Polybrk.mbx on the Mapinfo utilities site breaks a
polyline into segments at nodes, which can lead to the creation of hundreds
of segments with complex polylines (although it is very useful!)
