Dear Dawn, The default distance unit is determined by unit specified in the projection of the particular table. So, if you save copy as and change the projection units to metres you will always see metres. This is not a true solution but might help. Laurence Seeff Points Business Mapping

There does not seem that a function like SIZEOF() in C or LEN() in VB exists in Mapbasic to get the size in bytes of a TYPE. The solution to obtain that length is to sum up the number of bytes of each element of the TYPE as described in the DIM section of the MapBasic Reference guide. Programmers,
