Dear Dawn,
The default distance unit is determined by unit specified in the projection of the
particular table. So, if you save copy as and change the projection units to metres
you will always see metres. This is not a true solution but might help.

Greetings, List.
If anyone has experience with the MicroStrategy API, please contact me
directly - not via this list. I need technical assistance that I cannot find

Dawn,
you need to get a mapbasic programmer to compile test the following little
routine using the Winfocuschangedhandler and a setmap statement.
( Sorry i am away from my mapbasic machine at the mo so i am not entirely

Hello MapInfo-L -
MapInfo is planning to launch an online MI Pro User Group (MIPUG) and we
would like your input. The idea is that MapInfo would regularly host a web

Hi group,
is there any chance (sql-statement?) to select multiple objects in a MapInfo
7 table, that have no other similarities than the same color?
Any help will be appreciated

Not to get into a coding war, but how about a right click in the mapper

The mbx select by drawing style is very useful for that kind of query, but
you can query only one table at the same time.
I think you can find it on the directions mag web site.

Greetings, List.
Has anyone managed to open an AV APR file in MI Pro? Or convert one into a
workspace? I'm talking, of course, of a MapBasic (or any other) tool.
TIA to all responders.

I am a newbie to mapbasic. Are there any websites that offer free training
or tips on how to get started or that possibly have free code to learn from.
Any help would be appreciated.

I am trying to use the modeling functions of VM and am constantly getting

just a lot of questions and very few answers.
I am using VM 2.0, but I see
Hi Tim,
Try saving the table with a new name and then try modeling this new table in
stead of the other.
It's not quite this error I have in mind, but VM has trouble using data from
other sources but MapInfos own DAT file, so if your datafile is fore

Hello all,
Does anyone know of a utility that enhances the save window as functionality
in MapInfo Pro 7.0? Is it possible to enhance this feature in MapBasic, and
if so, has anyone ever done it? I'd like to be able to save a 60 X 80
layout window as a 250 DPI .tif file, MI limits me to 96 DPI.
There does not seem that a function like SIZEOF() in C or LEN() in VB exists
in Mapbasic to get the size in bytes of a TYPE. The solution to obtain that
length is to sum up the number of bytes of each element of the TYPE as
described in the DIM section of the MapBasic Reference guide. Programmers,
