Re: [MCN-L] loan of ipods to visitors without smartphones

2016-10-28 Thread Henriquez, Akane
We have about 300 that we give out to visitors and student groups.
We hold onto a picture id during use. Its been a smooth process with little
bumps.
The only work is equipment maintenance and overnight storage and charging.

Hi there

We've got about 300 rental iPods that we distribute to visitors who don't want
to download the SFMOMA app, or who have an Android.

Basically following the same model as Douglas, which works pretty well.

I think is pretty similar to the Met, Whitney and others.

We are about to roll out over 400 such devices ... tomorrow!
Stay tuned.
FYI: smaller sample tests have gone very well. We ask to hold a photo ID until
the device is returned. Lots of details and logistics, and we can share that
story as this grand experiment continues.

MCNers,

Just doing some research about websites and the systems used to maintain your
online content. Any and all responses would be greatly appreciated.

1. If any, what CMS (content management system) do you use (Drupal, Wordpress,
other)?
2. What version are you running?
3. Who does the posting?

Thanks very much!

Floyd,
We at MoMA are using ACME ticketing - a relatively young company to the
ticketing space. We have been live since August 2015. We did a comprehensive
study of ticketing solutions about 1.5 years ago but found only ACME to meet
our requirements in terms of a cloud based solution, ability to be mobile, and
ability to integrate with other systems through json restful services. Please
reach out if you have questions.

Re: [MCN-L] Ticketing software

2016-10-12 Thread Henriquez, Akane
Chicago History Museum here.

We used VISTA (now owned by Ticketmaster) from 1980s through about 2006. Then
we switched to Patrons Edge (Blackbaud product) and are still currently on this
system. We plan to switch/upgrade to SRO4 (TopTix's next version of PE) in
early 2017. Relationships with Blackbaud and TopTix have their ups and downs,
but we are still satisfied enough to stick with them, as opposed to switching
to Tessitura, Altru, Gateway or Centamen. SRO4 offered the online ticketing
functionality we needed, but also supported integration with RE and was
reasonably priced.

Colleagues,

Can any of you share which ticketing software you are using and what options,
limitations they offer? Ballpark pricing would help too.
We are also interested in timed ticketing and online ticket sales. Any
experiences you can share will be appreciated.
