It does have a lot to do with the recording. My MZ-R50 records into the
buffer for 40 secs and then writes it to disc for a brief moment.
As for 40 secs not being handy ... believe me it is. When you're a drummer
and you're using one of these things as a playback device next to your kit,

I
can make it so if there is 2 seconds or more of silence, I dont want the
recorder to put on a track mark. Do Sharp's do this?
Yes, you can turn off the auto track mark function, at least you can with
the Sharps -
You can - switch off Sync Rec.

Hi again
I have just gone out and purchased an Intel 500mHz Celeron which comes
with a Soundblaster64 card (analog only output).
Understanding that I cant swap the soundcard that comes with the
computer (causes its a celeron??? and everything is on the motherboard)

The problem with End Search is that if you forget to press it you will
destroy your recording if you record again. They could keep End search
for editing, but the function should be changed so it will do an
automatic End Search when you press record..(with a way to override it
in case, for some
At last! How long have we been waiting for this?
Just a pity it's going to be USB (and probably expensive if Sony are
making it) because I don't have any USB ports (an extra 10 UKP) and I
won't be able to use it with Linux unless somebody hacks a driver for it
in 2.3, which will probably take

Next, I would like to know if I can connect my player to my CD
player that has only a headphones jack.
Sure why not? Don't it have a std output connector on the player?
Also, how can I connect it to my non-USB 7200 Macintosh computer?
Just use analog record for the time being.
I was really into MiniDisc until I went to the Switzerland Web Site and its
seems that every player had problems with it and eventually whether it takes
1 month or 1 year, the player shuts down. I talked to a guy I knew and he
said MiniDisc is on its way out and MP3 is on its way in. He

There already is working USB audio support in 2.3, and 2.4 is going to have
it. So I wouldn't worry about
Hi,
There should be an option - probably a jumper, dip switch or BIOS setup
setting to switch off the built-in sound. Check the motherboard manual.
Then you can fit a new PCI soundcard no bother.
I've got a SoundBlaster Platinum with LiveDrive II. It works OK with MD, but
the software is a

I heard that a few times. What I see in the shops says otherwise -
you can
get blank MDs in ASDA (a supermarket) now!
Yeah, CVS, Food Lion and Giant carry like, 3 packs.
Dollar General had some at one point. Don't know where they got them
from. But it was like, 3 pack for $3.50. Crap
