Yeah, W123. I'll take another look, but the holes appeared to be
blind. Maybe they aren't supposed to be, though. My car was put
headfirst in a ditch, at some point, and the air dam/valence area under
the bumper was pushed upwards in places.
You DO have to reach up blind at the back of the bumper with the
nuts. I used a pair of curved hemostats to hold the nut while I pushed
the bolt through from the front.

bought the requisite bracket (it wasn't cheap, IIRC). That is what is
attached to the holes on the car. The license plate then screws into that
bracket.

slowest speed of the 3 or 4 auto
Yea, forgot about the AC. The compressor is the same and in the same
place as the 84, so I assume the lines will just plug right into the
back of the 116 engined compressor. Did know the trannies were
different as well.
