Shocks aren't really shocks. They are motion dampers that absorb the up down motion of the car body they convert 100% of the motion they dampen into heat. Just drive your car a few miles then pull over carefully touch one of your shocks. All shocks that I know of are dampened in both

My 116 came with worn out, 2-3 year old, low mileage Sears shocks on it. Probably Monroe or Gabriel products. One of the backs was devoid of fluid, letting the tire dribble like a basketball. The other three aren't as good as 150kmi Bilsteins.

you just crack each line while its idling to see which one doesnt make it worse, or makes it worse the least. After that, you will want to probably swap injectors to see if the problem follows the injector. While you have them out you could probably check compression as well. If the
