That's correct, you need a different part number for your 23mm glow
plugs. You must have a 3.5L car then, since all the 90's 603's in the
USA were 603.97x's! ;)
About the 500E lights, I set mine up with relays so the inside pencil
beams come on with the high beams automatically. Using

is, IIRC, 0.75-0.85 bar at full load in 3rd gear at 4000rpm. In
English, that's 10-12psi. The older (1987) models had a spec of up to
14psi. I'm more than a little concerned that your mechanic doesn't

I've actually priced the Sach's and Boge shocks and they are about $10 cheaper
on the average then Bilsteins. The ML is assembled in Alabama so its not
surprizing that many of the parts are different from the german spec vehicles.
Sachs struts by the way use OEM springs which are every bit as

All I remember seeing is crude from the strategic petroleum reserve
loaned to the oil companies after Katrina.
My 116 came with worn out, 2-3 year old, low mileage Sears shocks on it.
Probably Monroe or Gabriel products. One of the backs was devoid of fluid,
letting the tire dribble like a basketball. The other three aren't as good
as 150kmi Bilsteins.

The secondary fuel filter had a pin hole at the bottom. Not from a damage,

the firewall to the suspension (brake rod, brake support strut) and the
ball/socket can clunk like that when it wears out. Replacing the
