Spending $30k-$40k for a vehicle and having that monthly payment is just
something I don't want to be burdened with. Just doesn't make a lot a sense to

My recollection is that the threaded rod corrodes
somewhat, and that's what chews the plastic to bits.
You can chase the threads with a die, which will help
immensely. Then use some goop on it to prevent it in
future.

the past couple of years I have several time found that new rotors from the
Lincoln Dealer were thinner then the used ones I was taking off of cars. I
agree that turning them is rarely worth it especailly when you ad your

Best repair I've had is to melt the two pieces back together
using a plastic welding rig. But it doesn't hold forever,
and it's a bit oogly.

How did you get that rod out ? Was that on a 201?
I've never had to fix one with electric seats. The manual
ones slide out through the hub of the gear once the knob
is removed. Having the back cover off is quite helpful, so
that you can guide things back together again.
