i salvage old ign coils for the spools of copper wire. For plastic repairs, if/where a splint won't fit, i drill some very small holes and thread the copper wire through it. Then the shoegoo/epoxy is used more for a sealer than for tensile strength. If you need even finer wire, craft stores

Finished this job tonight probably would have had it done on Sunday but needed to wait on new seals which I had not ordered in advance. I was able to get the axles out with the calipers in place, so perhaps on the sedan there is a bit more room. The leaking boot was not completely torn open.
