I have a Schauer 10A model I think I bought at Sears. It just works, and
has never failed me, and will go where no 'modern' charger will dare to
tread. I've been watching for another one, for maybe 20 years now.

I had trouble charging motorcycle batteries at 10a. When I had my CB900 it
needed everything a battery could provide, after a couple of weeks sitting it'd
need a charge. A couple times I rushed it at 10a and boiled it, oops...

A big battery that's mostly discharged can take more than a full day at 2A, and
your "2A" charger might not be putting out 2A the whole time. If it's already
80% charged a few hours at 2A should take care of it.
I'd give it more time and see what happens.
