I use older epson r260 6 color for photo prints ….. I run them with dye ink in
refillable chinese cartridges …. Ink and carts cost nothing but you need to use
the printer regularly
For black and white I use older HP b laser which always work to print a
document
Toner cartridges are

All inkjets will dry out if not used. It's just not a good idea unless she'll
be using it regularly.
If it's something she'll use a lot, maybe consider one of the Epson "ecotank"
models I believe they are more economical on ink replacements, though they
might cost a bit more up front.

My buddy Todd called me with a shady deal. He picked up a 2017 S550 4m for $10k
clean title no key. The VIN sticker on the door pillar is gone but it has a VIN
plate in the windshield. The title matches this VIN. Dealer can’t make a key
because the EIS and ECU VIN don’t match the
Stay away from HP inkjet printers. They eat expensive cartage's. Brother
and Epson make better inkjets in my opinion.
I have a Brother Color Laser printer that prints good
quality prints.

We now use a printing service - cheaper than replacing dried up dead inkjet
printers. We use mpix.com, but there are several good ones. Maybe one will let
you send/order a print from your phone? (I use a real camera for anything that
will get printed).
