Thanks to all. I do make short trips (5 miles) lately and insufficient
charging could accumulate, that's why for now I don't run the AC in
this un-godly heat.
I'll start to interrogate the GPR with a lamp as you suggested. See what I find.

relay stays energized after start and key is returned to position
2 ? This would draw more than the alternator output for as long as the
car is driven. I really don't know how I could monitor this
continuously.
