Heres the scene: we have an 80 300 SD. Five button and temp roller,
ac off on switch. We kept warm all winter with the defrost.
Also known as the Evil Chrysler Climate Control from Hell.
Park car near cliff. Get out. Reach in and release brake.

Perhaps it would be possible to wire in a later model ACC controller?
One could get this from the junkyard, along with the temp sensors and
pneumatic valve body that goes with it.
You might also be able to wire in a Volvo 760 controller? Those are much
simpler than the Mercedes units, but

I think it would be very straightforward, since good wiring and vacuum
diagrams exist for all of these systems. They seem complicated at first,
but they're not really when you get the bigger picture of what they are-
just a box that takes electricity, and opens/closes different pneumatic
what look like really good install instructions.

Is it the same as I have in the '83 300D (which has 28 wires going to
three solid state units under the dash)? The one which has several
ground wires as indicated in the manual which don't test out as being
grounded? The one that slowly fries itself to death without blowing
the fuse?
No,
That evil crypsler ACC was the death of most cars equipped with it.
Most 116s went to the smasher after people got tired of spending money
on it. Nice there now is a replacement that works.
Sure wish MBNA would let us have cars with manual heat and ac, manual
sunroofs, and especially manual
*Oh mighty MB gurus,

the issues you have covered lately!!
Really need some ideas and advise. Have some vague thoughts and need
better, because these systems are so involved, any experiences will give
us more informed
Fix the broken vacuum line in the engine compartment next to the
brake booster. If you have temp control but only flow out the
defrost, you don't have vacuum to the control unit, and the usual
leak is by the booster (the line gets brittle).
If you DONT have temp control, you need to check
