Seatbelts were an option in 1963. My 190dc was purchased factory direct
through an olds dealer in PA and I guess the buyer didnt view them as
worthwhile, so he didnt spec it that way.

If it was a fed car or one legally imported, in 1969, it was sold new
with seatbelts. People took them out, as some states required use, "if
installed."

available as an Option. Feds required belts in 1965.

Weldments and threaded fasteners (nuts) were present in the cars since the
early 1960s. My 1962 300SE had the nuts in place with rubber plugs in them on
the floor and “B” pillar. Belts were optional until the early 60s, I think.
Certainly by 1968 they were standard. Someone may have removed

of used belts and installed them prior to drive from CA to WI. The
mounting holes were there, so I guess the belts were an option?

No seatbelts in 1963?
I thought A. Marshall bought his first MBZ diesel in 1962 or 1963 after his
wife died, specifically because it had seatbelts and other safety features that
Chevrolets didn't have.

I had a 1963 190dc. Black on red vinyl. 4 on the tree. It was a great
driving car. No seatbelts though.
You could practically rent the trunk out on air bnb.

Getuftet. Proper tufting (as produced by the many, many Hispanically-owned
upholstery shops near my home) is less checkerboardy, a bit more creative. I’ve
never seen anything like that before.

The picture of the engine compartment showed an intact engine. The
text said spare parts included. Looked like there may be two heads off.

More correctly "Ran until parked and head was removed for unknown reason"
Nope, and YEP!

On a 1960 Falcon you can take the head off in 20 minutes.
Slightly longer to put it back on. I know, I've done it, to remove
the accelerator pump nozzle screw that fell out and got sucked
in and embedded in a piston. I removed the screw and put it back
together. Didn't even use any new gaskets.
