The original story was called The Sentinel, the 2001 book was an expanded
version of it to go with the movie. Would that Kubrick had made a Dune movie
instead of those other later horrible things.

BTDT.One year in college I lived in an on campus townhouse with 5 other guys.
5 out of 6 of us were film or video students. Pretty much every night was movie
night as somebody would be writing a paper about some movie or another.

The Movie by Lynch is his standard weird 80’s mind F. It only hit the high

The boys at SciFi channel made some movies that were more coherent.

I stumbled upon the movie on TV long before I read the book, and was kind of
confused.
It didn't help that I missed the beginning, so I found Paul and his mom alone
in the desert after his dad was killed, and the kid had to fight a guy to the
death for reasons not
Don't bother, it's terrible. I got tired of terrible blackness and weird
dialogue in 1976 when Lynch was just starting out. Needs a shrink, bad.
