Well I disagree to an extent, if you are gonna pump money into a 109 you
really want the M116 3.5L engine. MB produced this engine for a long
time and it should be easy enough to get a hold of one, if needed.
Given the state of the car and the engine in it, I would walk away,
unless you got it
Speaking of the 3.5, as a reference point

not sure about it's condition or anything but looks a hell of a lot
better than the lowrider in the desert.

Indeed. The guy out here is wack. He's called me leaving messages wondering
what I was thinking and reminding me he wasn't going to budge on the price.
What a clown.

It looks like the back bumper and tailpipe are on the verge of falling off.
I'm guessing it's more work to restore than Jaime's but I could be wrong.

Does look very Euro. Even a rear foglight. Probably not a practical car to
own, but could be fun.

Wow, Velour! Now that's super cool. That's a /8 model, a face lift of
sorts for the original W108/9 that started in 1968.
I don't see the air compressor/PS pump on the engine. Not sure if its
mounted on the M130 in the same place as the M189, certainly could be down
The M130 makes this a less risky car, since you can get a good engine pretty
easily if you need one. Even a rebuild isn't unreasonable.
Air suspension is air suspension, but its a W109 and W112. Parts are not
horrible in price, and once its done, its fixed for a long time.
