I don't have enough knowledge about your particular model but do have a
bit of general mechanical experience with a lot of different vehicles.
Not being there to hear what the engine actually sounds like when it is
turning over to hear if there are compression pulses when the starter
at speed.

It's not gonna be a five cent part if the chain jumped and then broke.
Usually causes horrific clatter.
However, I would check out the engine by rotating the front crank bolt
-- if it turns, you will have to investigate why the flywheel turns but
not the crank. If not, check for a locked up

Rent or borrow a car and worry about it later.
I would have suggested filters -- a bad tankful of fuel could plug
them even if they were recently changed. Was the car refuled
shortly before this happened?
