older w115. From the stuff I find at the PnP, an old 616 with the pull
start will fit pretty easy in your 250c

Just my opinion, but I think the 114/115 series, especially the diesel is
the best car Mercedes ever built. The major fault I find with the design is
that they built the car around the heater blower motor. Ordinarily I will
not buy

I checked the fuses, but the fuse for the trans also handles backup
lights, part of the climate control system, etc. so I am reluctant to
run without it.
I will try to trace the kickdown wire and look for shorts.
I have never been able to take an accurate trans fluid reading.

I used to add filtered crank case oil to my diesel. I'd pour in 1 quart per
fill up. I bought a oil filter relocation kit at a yard sale and I rigged it
up as a gravity feed filter. I tore down the setup when I moved years ago
and never bothered to set it back up.

OK I am having some real funky issues with my 73 280SEL 4.5. The car has
never run right. When I first bought the car, the timing was way out and the
car ran bad and would pop. My Dallas mechanic addressed this and changed the
timing chain. The car then ran well for a while but now appears to

opening the bleeder screws on the calipers. Guess they don't know what thread
sealer is. From trial and error I had luck using a propane torch with the

the fuel lines and the vacume lines in the engine...
After working on my 300d, I curse these 4.5 sels...
mix ratio is 1 part oil to 20 parts diesel...at that
rate it would take 50 years (exaggeration) to pay off.
I think that is overboard. Luther mixes WVO/diesel at
50/50 in the tank...

Check the coil wire. I've found that some wire sets have a carbon core in
this wire and that won't work on these cars. Fuel pressure and trigger
points fouled out come to mind as possible problems.
