Clean or clean and repair the boost control line from the rear or the
intake manifold to the ALDA on the injection pump -- these engines
clog that line pretty fast. Verify that the overboost solenoid is
holding pressure.

When you say that the washer works, do you mean it squirts water out or
it squirts and wipes like it should.
Far as replacing the combo switch, I am not 100% sure but it may be
possible.

Speaking of cruise controls, I saw a strange box bolted to the side of
the intake manifold on the '92 300D, asked Kaleb what it was, and
found out that it's the cruise control actuator. There is no such box
on the '90 300D - must be why the cruise control never worked. OF
course, the CC in the '92
Its been a while, but IIRC, a water pressure signal has to be present for
the main valve to open, otherwise you have a melt down of the heat
exchanger. Hmmm, me thinks there was a tap off the inlet water pipe with a
small copper tube going ???.

Yes, you can copy stuff over with a few exceptions. Both Vista and XP
work with NTFS and Fat filesystems. If you get permission errors, you
can try booting from a BartPE CD. That gives you access to the
filesystem without Windows trying to enforce any security constraints.
Look underneath the intake too, on the 603 it's down by the starter.
Check for a missing link, too - the link on my brother's 300E was
off, so the cruise didn't work.
