Switches rarely go bad, I think used is the best value.

I did the press and hold brake pedal test several times, engine running,
and then moved the car and looked for brake fluid (found none) and also
watched the reservoir level (it didn't seem to drop).
Current master cylinder is a replacement (aftermarket, no identifying marks

Jim, that's a great idea, maybe Craig can try cleaning his switch up. I've
recovered many MB switches using De-Ox-It.
My 124 switch was a crimp-sealed unit, I considered opening it up to see if
it was repairable, but $10 and a few minutes at a junkyard was the best
time/money saver for me.

I have read a few times of people (on a Sprinter based RV) replacing the
control unit along with the plug after the failure of a single plug. Does
this make any sense to anyone? I can sort of understand replacing all the
GPs after one fails, but why the control unit?
