FedEx Ground contractor just delivered Chinese Remy alternator #2. Looks good, time to put it on the ML and see how long it lasts. I handed him #1, he scanned it and told me I was all set. So that saved me a 55 mile round trip to FedEx to get rid of the busted one. Mitch.

CBT Clean, Bright, Tight . is the rule. When you take the cable clamps off, look for black oxide coating on the posts and cables. This material is apparently the greatest insulator known. It kills battery connection completely. Once clean, I always coat the posts with dielectric grease.

When I was a teen, I used to plink twigs, smaller in diameter than a .22 bullet, with my Marlin 60. That'd be about as cheap as it gets. Ruger 10/22 is always a safe bet. Buy one used, sell it for breakeven when you get tired of it. If you want top accuracy, $400 should get you a bolt action
