What about getting some left handed drill bits?
I'm leery of easy-outs simply because they are super-hard and border on
brittle... Not to mention that they swell the bolt that you put them in...

I did the exact same thing on My 2003 Outback about 3 weeks ago but I did
not use the impact, I did it with the breaker bar. The car is from Chicago
so I attributed it to corrosion and low grade asian materials. I drilled
and tapped and replaced the bolt. Were you R R'ing the CV?

Find out what a replacement knuckle will cost. Sometimes cheaper to replace

This one was from PA - wheel bearing needs replacing. Hopefully Kroil will
make bolt removal easy so I don't need a ball joint (if the blue wrench is
needed). The shop said maybe just leave it since all I did was twist the head
off. I may and worry about it when I need a ball joint. Not

Sounds like a very nice car, I'm sure you'll be happy behind the wheel!
Far more refined than your '85; quieter, better handling, better
mileage, longer change intervals on Mobil 1...

Sounds great-congratulations. Same colors and basic condition as mine. IMHO
it's hard to pay too much for a good 300D 2.5t with those miles and that

First thing to do is to pull off the tube running from a splitter at
the intake manifold to the driver side fender, and blow it out with
air. That fixes about 90% of the turbo problems. I like the price
of the repair. (assuming the routing is the same as on 86-87 OM603s)
If that fails,

Didn't we come to the conclusion that wiring harnesses put into production
during a certain timeframe were affected?
