Yes, it was stop drilled and the crack filled with resin. The surface of
the windshield is smooth, but the crack is still somewhat visible. I was
mostly concerned about it spreading into an area that would impair my
vision. If that happens, I'll just replace it again.

Hmmm - 'hope it works. 'Wonder if it has to be stop-drilled like aircraft

crack - relieve stress.

Found a repair guy who could come first thing. He said it was repairable,
and if it fails he'll refund my money. The warranty is good as long as I
own the car. We'll see how this works. It cost $60.

Sign up a dummy account for google voice, you can get a "local" number to
anyone, and have it forward to your real phone. After a couple months of
disuse it will revert.
Sounds like you shouldn't tell him you're on the other side of the
country...

I'm no windshield guy, but I have done my share over the years, and in doing
so, had conversations with said repair guys about the wisdom of fixing versus
replacement.
It is my understanding that when there is a crack, more so a divot from a rock

So the repair is likely only to make the existing crack less visible or
completely invisible, but it may continue to crack? I'm tempted to just
let it grow then!

If the crack is spreading, you probably don't have a choice but to replace it.
Have a glass guy look at it and they can tell you.

If you look close at a car that is all, or mostly carbon in clear, getting
