A light sandblasting will allow paint to stick to the chrome. Then they can be primed and painted. I've done that before, but not with wheels. I would have, too. I'm wondering if I should get them stripped so I can repaint them the original color. Thanks, Dan

At 1200 hours on the hobbs meter the diesel engine isn't even breathing hard. That unit should go for 15,000 hrs without major repair.. At $1000 it's a steal me price for a diesel generator set made by Kohler. 200 KW would run things ... fuel cost per hour might be a bit, however, at full load.
