Remove the pull start cover and use a battery drill motor with a socket drive and socket on the end of crank nut that will be accessed when you pull the pull start cover. Then use the drill to crank the engine with the plug out and grounded to the head so you can watch it. Really quick you will see

Did you install a new spark plug? Good chance the old plug is gas fouled from trying to start it with dead gas, which is why you do not have spark.
