Posted a similar question to another MB list but no bites so I'm widening the net… '84 300TD. The rubber boot on one lower ball joint (control arm/steering knuckle) is cracked but not open or leaking (other side shows no such cracking). Mercedes sells a boot kit ( 1165860433) for this joint.

Sensor batteries (2 AAA) are replaceable. The lights are at our So. Oregon vacation house. I replace them once a year whether they need it or not. I have never seen moisture / dust / cloudiness on the lens or inside the battery compartment but will triple check the entire unit next time. I
