Re: [MBZ] OT but sort of a continuation of the lights thread
Probably the flasher going out, but could be dirty connections. Clean them up and if you have the tow package, you have an extra set of relays somewhere on that thing that may need cleaning. --Robert R A Bennell wrote: I am having an issue with my 98 F150. It would be fine at some times and not at others. I thought the filament must be touching sometimes and being bounced apart at others. One day when it acted up I got out and looked to see if it was front or back. The back bulb was flashing away faster than normal. The front was not flashing so I thought I had my culprit. I changed the front right bulb and it seemed to be OK. Turned out not to be so then I started thinking a bad ground on that corner. That was only Tuesday so I have not had a chance to look again - especially since we got another dose of winter - fresh snow and quite a bit of it. This morning I noticed that the right signal does not seem to work properly if I lift the turn signal stalk the whole way. If I just lift it a bit like one would do to change lanes etc then it seems to work fine. Question is, can it be a ground issue or may I have something going wrong with the switch itself. I hope not as that will be much messier and more expensive to fix. Any experts out ther? Can't do just wire tracing, since the wires operate as a bus or trunked or however you want to call it. Probably about $80 at the dealer. That's my guess, for what it's worth, which ain't much. It's a ford, so your mileage WILL vary :) K
