Yeah, compared to American V8s they are gigantic. Something to do with full
skirt pistons and overhead cams, I think, plus being a Y block.

Thanks for the info. On the donor I am going to cut out all the front
impediments, so it will slide out easily. On the other car, I will have
to use your technique for pulling and installing.
Maybe I can get summadem Irma skeeters to just fly it out of the car!

Best to have a rack on the lift that lets you tilt the engine. As you come up,
crank it back so it's tail heavy, will allow the oil pan to clear the radiator
support while the tranny tail is still under the firewall.
You need to practice, as this is how it goes back in, gotta drop the tranny
