I don't believe the Hydrak was in any 110 or 111 cars in the US. It

option. The only transmissions I have seen in 110 and 111 cars in
the USA are the 4 speed auto or the standard 4 speed. They Hydrak,

VW learned from the Hydrak experience of D-B. The auto stick shift
was the same concept, but was a much later design. It was generally
more reliable than the Hydrak.

No kidding. If he had the books, manuals, records and original paperwork it
might fetch into the 5 figure range.
Leather seating on these models is extremely rare, as is a s/r. I also like
the color-matching dash (this was the last year offered as standard), and if
it has wood pieces rather
A dude came by the office to place an ad for a REALLY nice 81 300CD,
comes out in the paper next week. Price is $2500 obo, seems cheap to me
especially if it can be had for 2k or so. I have the number in
advance of course. Unfortunatly I am bound by an insider trading agreement.

$2500 sounds like a good deal if it's very nice! I sold my '78 for $2700,
and it had a very nice body and a fair interior (major dash and rear
seatback cracking due to the california sun). This '81 CD that I have does
have a much better interior with minor splitting along the seams on the top

The plastic cap on the end of the solenoid is loose. I wonder if my rattling
it around has allowed it to

Also, monogrammed floormats? Was this an option from MB, or aftermarket
only?
And how did this person get a 300SEL without electric sliding roof?

Hello dieselers!
My fiance and I were driving around town with her sister and happened to
spot a creamy yellow 1982 300CD turbo. It has 178K miles, very nice paint,
perfect tan leather interior (not MB Tex), buntcake wheels, everything
works, and it's a 2 owner car. I didn't have time to
Check it out thoroughly first!
1) Do the rear windows work OK? That's an expensive fix.
2) Each door frame seal costs over $300 if needing replacement.
3) Figure $1800 to rebuild the transmission
4) Test drive it to see how it rides. Ours always seems to need
shocks, ball joints, tie rod
