For the conservation hunt (specifically to remove snow geese) you don't need one, just need a hunting license in some state. You also don't need a federal waterfowl stamp although I've got one anyway. During the conservation hunt there are no limits on geese shot, no limit on shells in the gun

I'm thinking about a trip to Arkansas next year for the snow goose conservation hunt. Looks like just under 1500 miles each way, about 48 hours of driving total round trip. Probably do it in 2 days each way with a friend. I should look into flying too, not sure how much the airline would charge
