That is the "push and Pray" system of the Killer toadas. After all
the deaths and lawsuits, I am surprised they proliferate. Every asian
car and dogde seems to have it now.

I would not buy one unless the stealer installed a manual master
power switch so you can shut the thing off when it tries to run away
and kill the occupants.

It was a BAD idea when toada started it, and it is still a BAD idea now.

Craig,
Could it be they mean "push button" starter like some of the newer
cars have? I agree, that's not the type of exercise I like.

Best Wishes,

Ignitions and security can be funny. Back in 1987, I purchased a Ford
Escort Wagon from the local Ford Dealership. They wanted $450. for the
"security" system they had installed on the car. I asked where it was so I
could determine the value...they said they'd show me if I paid for it. I
said no and they said they'd remove it the next time I had the car in for
any service or I could keep it for only $250... to which I once again said
no. I looked around and found that they had cut an ignition wire under the
dash and installed a toggle switch which was their $450 security system.
They really were a "stealership".

My family's '37 Ford had a pushbutton starter. I think it also had a
steering wheel lock - a switch on steering column. That's the car on which

That is the "push and Pray" system of the Killer toadas. After all the
deaths and lawsuits, I am surprised they proliferate. Every asian car and
dogde seems to have it now.

I would not buy one unless the stealer installed a manual master power
switch so you can shut the thing off when it tries to run away and kill
the occupants.

It was a BAD idea when toada started it, and it is still a BAD idea now.

Craig,
Could it be they mean "push button" starter like some of the newer cars
have? I agree, that's not the type of exercise I like.

I was thinking of my 2013 truck which is not very old.
My previous one was better in some ways.
One would think they would improve things rather than go backwards.
1. cannot see where the key goes unless I lean over to the right and
look under the steering wheel. Not like that in my 2002 F150.
2. knob on the dash to put it into 4WD is immediately behind the shifter
when the truck is moving forward - difficult to get to that button when
wearing gloves or mitts. Not like that in the 2002.

Ignitions and security can be funny. Back in 1987, I purchased a Ford Escort
Wagon from the local Ford Dealership. They wanted $450. for the "security"
system they had installed on the car. I asked where it was so I could determine
the value...they said they'd show me if I paid for it. I said no and they said
they'd remove it the next time I had the car in for any service or I could keep
it for only $250... to which I once again said no. I looked around and found
that they had cut an ignition wire under the dash and installed a toggle switch
which was their $450 security system. They really were a "stealership".

My family's '37 Ford had a pushbutton starter. I think it also had
a steering wheel lock - a switch on steering column. That's the car
