I've owned three of those. They're a nice driver, with a more substantial (Audi-like) feel than other VWs of the era. I never paid more than $1100 for any of them. And, that was back nearly 15 years ago. A tdi engine coupled to a VW Fox five speed would make for a really nice commuter. Casey
