It's pretty hard to store 100+ KWh of energy and prevent it from causing some
excitement if it all escapes at once, due to damage or control circuit failure,
etc.

Your factors are fine, and that doesn't even include the customer
dissatisfaction
factor when the fact that EV's do NOT do the entire job sinks into the
collective
consciousness. Ridiculous vehicles like the F150 EV will

Thanks for the good news!
I've been worried that OPEC was going to go broke.

Yes, and it seems a lot of engines are designed from the ground up for low
viscosity lube.
IIRC Honda specifies 0W16 in some engines.
OK, make that Honda and Toyoda:

Are the lighter weight oils mostly intended to improve fuel economy? A
lot of engines seem to call for 5W20 these days but in the heat of
summer, one might think that 10W30 might be better. I know someone on
here suggested that looking in the owner's manual for information on the
use of
I'm surprised that the Escape which calls for 20 weight oil is a 2008 V6.
I bet my neighbor is running 10W40 in his 2008 V6 if he's changing his own oil.
He's like my dad was 20 years ago, 10W40 in everything, who cares if it says
5W30 on the oil cap...
Anyway, the oil change specials now
I can’t imagine using such light weight oils especially in a diesel

Jono says not to use that in 112 anymore, not sure why, that is what I have
always used. Thinking about switching to a 5w40 or 15w40 synthetic diesel oil.

I should be sorry too. You mentioned it was an Escape in your original post, I
must have skimmed over that part.
In warm weather 5W20 is probably better than 0W20 if only because the 0W20
probably has a substantially higher Noack Volatility than a 5W20 of the same
brand.
If I put enough
I think I sent a link to that chart that showed the “acceptable “ (Mobil1) oils
for various MB engines. It basically ran 0 or 10Wwhatever depending on
temperature.
I was looking in relation to the V12 as there was a bottle of 10W60 lubriMoly
in the trunk, and that was an acceptable oil for
I was doing that with the Dodge at the local Valvoline place, you don't even
get out of the car...Then I noticed at around 5,000 miles the engine would tick
on startup, nothing major, just a new noise. It went away with an oil change. I
changed it myself to M1 last spring (May? I forget, we
That’s pretty much the case.
Mercedes has stickers all over cars from the late 90s pushing the “European
Formula” M1 0W-40, but in reality, I could easily use the 15W-50 in my
cars/climate without a problem - and I have, mainly in higher mileage cars to
maintain a solid idle oil pressure
I expect if you looked in the manual you'll find a range of acceptable oil
weights for your car. My Dodge calls for 5w20 most of the time but IIRC can go
up to 5w40 or even 10w40 in hot weather. I fill it with 5w20 and call it good.
The new Jetta TDI has to have VW 507.00 oil which is always
Sorry guys, I correct myself (old age thing). I use 5w20 full synthetic Mobil
1 in the Atlanta area. I use it because Ford stamped it in big yellow numbers
on the oil cap. The Ford dealer shop guy once told me the Escape V6 needed
really thin oil for the ultra small oil ports/paths within
Theres got to big profit in M1, I've seen list at $9-10 like you say. I
generally buy when Autozone has a deal on, last couple were $29/gal with a
filter.
I'd never thought to try Dollar General but theres one not far from here in tax
free New Hampshire. My pickup uses 5w20 and will need a
Bought two jugs of it from Walmart.com delivered to my store a few weeks ago.
Haven’t checked the price since, but that’s what I paid at the time. I was
surprised.

I figured $22.88.
Haven't seen 19.88 in over ten years.
So I checked walmart.com.
Internet pricing (stores might be higher or lower) is
26.68 Mobil One
25.47 Extended Performance (0W20 and 5W30 but not 10W30)
39.84 Annual Protection
I can't imagine them selling much M1 in the two grades that
I use Mobil 1 0W-40 and last paid $19 and change for a five quart jug at
Walmart. It’s usually around $26.00/jug.

What do you use 0W20 in in Georgia?
I put a jug of it in the Cruze last month, but I'll switch back to 5W30 in the
Spring.
GM
Well, I throw this out so you guys can stop arguing about energy prices, etc.
etc. Here in the Atlanta area, my mcparts stores charge $9.99 for a quart of
Mobil 1 Synthetic 0W20 which I use in my Ford Escape. I was in my local Dollar
General store and noticed that they have the same oil for
OPEC says oil should be $60-70 per barrel (or about half of what it is at
currently).
