Re: [MBZ] Stalls in gear FIXED Now timing

Himine runs smoothly at 700 RMP .but the idle goes up slightly the
moment the A/T is engaged or the steering turned!
the vacuum speed stabilizer is very accurate to track the load and ups the
idle.

Now I just need to get the zeniths sorted out in my 69 250 AND my 72
250C. Lovely. BTW, trim your posts.

Any idea how the EU version was setup timing wise? the US where at 4

 you

accellerated and switched over to advance.

 This is a M130 250.

BTW I tracked down my problem to the two carb mounting gaskets. Found

with some carb cleaner. Tightend it up and ran much stronger. Put it
 in

 uphill

 driveway.

 Thanks everybody for their help!

[MBZ] Stalls in gear FIXED Now timing

2006-09-25 Thread 72benz250
 occured
  with
  the engine warmed up.

Trampas, you said choke pull-off is pulling choke off too much.
  I'm
  not
sure I understand. Choke is on?

Is it possible the carbs are still a little on the lean side and
  causing
  the
  stall in gear?

Thanks to everybody for their help.

Could be the fast idle not set correctly or choke pull-off is
  pulling
  choke
off too much. Ahh the old days of carburetors, been awhile since I
  have
  even
thought about carburetors, I use to be able to rebuild quadra-Jets
  in
   my
   sleep.

   hi all,

I had the head decked on my 72 250 W114, took a while. I rebuilt
  the
carburetor. Fired it up on Sunday, stalled. Tightened the choke
  plate
   and
  I
   was on the road.

This morning, weather was a little cool, 65 vs 85 on Sunday, and it
   took a

lot of coaxing to get her running. When I did, putting her in drive
  or
reverse cased her to stall. Let her get to temperature, failed
  again.

Any idea what may be causing this trouble?

   Thanks
