Make a police report, with your sheriff. They need to know, you'll get more
support if you have evidence of vandalism. If there is further criminal
activity in the future, you'll be able to build up pressure for the sheriff
to get involved.

I went to HF and got a couple of their solar lights. I was going to install
them on the shop but I’m going to need some self taping sheet metal screws, of
which I could not find any so that will have to wait until I can get. Heck I
guess I could have stuck one up on the light pole though.
Get a couple of those bright motion-activated solar lights and nail them
to the lamp post. That'll scare anybody away.

Trail camera(s) Hide em where the perps won't see em.
One of our neighbors had a great video of a guy walking up and stealing
the camera!
Or some of these: https://evertek.com/Product/DCS-5025L-R I have a
wholesale account there and can get them for you for $34, which I think
is about

They left in a hurry when Kaleb turned on a light to go looking for them.
The bad news is not all meth heads run
Correct, criminals hate the idea that they've caused a light to come on and
they _might_ be visible.

Screw it im going to HF to get 2-3 of them to try out. If they work good I may
get more.
I also need to replace the wall lights that are mounted on either side of the
garage on the front of the house. Debating on going motion on those or just the
ones that turn on at dusk.
Then I need to
It’s not so much the brightness of the lights but that something lights up when
people go wandering around uninvited. That’s often enough to scare them off.

I have cameras around my house. We’re not in an area where there’s any crime
to speak of, but our neighbors across the street have a rental that was vacant
for a few weeks and someone went poking around trying to break into it, so I
put some cameras up to make the wife happy. I used some

One that is so bright it blinds who ever you point it at... The
intimidation factor is worthwhile, plus, should you see the viable legal
need to defend yourself, you have a better sight picture..
Yes I need to do that. As large of an area as I have to cover I am not sure the
led solar lights will be bright enough. Even though these are much easier to
install I keep going back to good old fashioned flood lights.

Hi definition security cameras. Will it prevent you from getting ripped off?
No. There will be video evidence though, and that will assist in apprehending
the perpetrators. You can set them up to alert you to movement too. Great for
seeing when your family and friends are coming and going.
It's probably a good way to get your house burned down. A gate across that
opening would be a better choice.

I'd be worried about stepping on that spiked board. Maybe put up signs that
face your property to warn / remind? From the road the signs can't be seen.
I'm thinking that's a bad idea, liability for injuries etc.

How often do you drive there?
If you spike a board and put it where it will be driven over, can you and yours
remember 100% not to go there without moving the spike board out of the way
first?
Do you have any dogs? If I spiked my yard, Phoebe would be sure to run over it
and rip her paw up.
Last night about 11:30pm I was in bed waiting for the lights to go out.
Wife comes in as says there is a vehicle in our yard. I quickly get
dressed, grab a .45 and head out the door. I flip on the porch light
and garage lights. By the time I got out there they were at the street
