Last time I topped off the 16v, I pumped 5 gallons of 93 octane, then finished
with 6 gallons of 87, which gave me a mix of about 70% premium. No ping noticed
so far. Getting near
completely right until he ran a couple
tanks of premium through.

The 380 felt slow compared to the '78 450 - not one of the more
powerfull 450's. I think a 380SE was about the same as the 300SDL. Yes

Our 380 felt faster (somewhat) than our '76 450. Mostly (I
think) due to the 4-speed tranny.

Probabably around 6k, which is cheap cheap cheap for a 560SL. Yea, you
should fit in it.

Except,
380 rated for regular fuel, 560 burns premium. Never felt a lack of
power with my 85 380SL.

I have said it before and I will say it again, there is no problem
running regular in the 560 engine.

And I'll say it againyou can run cat urine if you want but the
factory says to run only premium and that is all we should be
advising. The knock sensors in the 80's were not as sophisticated as
they are now.

I dont see a car running on cat urine. I have owned many 116/117 motors
and have been running them just fine for 20 years on regular. No
difference in running, no change in fuel economy, many hundreds of
thousands of miles without any engine trouble. Just my first hand
experience. I dont

Mine's not all that bad. But it's no 560, either.
Our 560's all claim to need premium, but I've never tried
regular. I know for a fact that our 250C absolutely requires
premium. When I got it I didn't know, but it pinged like
a SOB, even on mid-grade.
