So I guess it *could* be the same car with 75k miles added since then and new

[MBZ] Ebay is a scam

Just be aware, selling cars on ebay is a scam.  If you have the high 
bidder non pay, all you can do is basically cancel the sale and relist 
it.  No leaving bad feedback, nothing.  Only option, cancel order.  No 
incentive at all for bidder to pay.  If you want to list the vehicle 
again, you will pay the listing fee again, apparently you do not get to 
relist it for free.  Ebay gets their money every time you run it 
regardless if it sells, is paid for etc.

These things along with the low price and sob story confirm it is a scam

I encountered one of these sob stories several years ago.  It was some 
woman being shipped off to desert areas, etc etc, advertised the vehicle 
in gufpo't (and other places) but when you inquired and asked to see it, 
it was in WA.  (yeah, right...)  Several other answers to questions didn't 
add up.  I played "her " for a while with email, then "she" stopped 
answering questions.  "She" had figured out we both knew it was a scam.

The guy said I had won a $750k lottery and new truck.  Located in LV.
I think he was taken aback by my desire to come pick up my lottery
winnings.  I think he wanted me to give him cc for shipping.  Hung up
without giving any info either way except for an address in LV - 303
Carson.  An interesting scam phone call.
I want to text this G-500 guy.  Someone needs to find out what is
happening in Lawrence, KS - isn't there a black-ops military base near
there?

? Hi, this is your grandson.  I was high and then got in a fatal
traffic accident, so now I'm in jail in Mexico.

If West Virginia is almost Heaven, it seems like you'd have to be
going north from your place.

I don't recall what model it was but I had a client who wanted to sell a 
Maserati a few years back. It had so many
problems that the price was low so who knows about this one.

I was tempted then to at least go and have a look at it but didnot as I was 
afraid getting parts might be more
effort than it was worth.

Did you see the other story there, One of the stories making
headlines today is a rumor published by the German magazine Focus
which states that Apple - purveyor of the iPod, Mac computer line,
soon-to-be iPhone, etc. - is developing a new navigation system which
will make its debut on Mercedes models starting in 2009.

owner of the site or Roger thinks this is unusual or worthy of
commentary.  In my experience this kind of thing happens _every_ time
you take a car to a dealer service department for two reasons:
incompetent techs and the system that prevents you from talking to
them directly, but to a so-called service representative or service
writer who runs interference for them.  Unfortunately some
independent shops are now following this model, as well (and at least
one has lost my patronage because of it).

My indy is a one man shop.  Well his wife works there too, doing the
books I think.  I like it because whenever I call or stop by there I
talk directly to him.
