Hi Guys,
I have an 83' 300td with a starting problem. It's Running diesel fuel only. I
replaced the glow plugs and the glow plug relay.
Fuel is getting delivered from the injection pump Ok. The started turns the
motor. This problem started with a recent minor cold snap.
Any ideas?
Could be:
A valve (or valves) not closing completely - needs valve adjustment
Low Compression
Starter (turning motor over too slow)
Weak (or wrong) battery
Corroded battery terminal
Failing alternator
Loose alternator belts (you have both belts on the alternator, right?)
IP timing
Start with the

You haven't been up under the dash playing with the ignition switch, have
you? I once inadvertently switched the two vacuum lines at the key, and the
car wouldn't start because the shut-off valve didn't release until the
