Hi All,
I am trying to remove the head on the 72 220D (long story why). Everything is
out and loose but the timing chain tensioner rail is interfering with the
head. It looks like the rail is every bit as wide as the slot in the head. Do
I need to remove the tensioner rail (and how is that

You saying the brandy-new sending unit may be drifting?
It's possible, but a contact quality (wiring) problem
might be contributing. The gauge itself is pretty reliable.

I think both of those numbers are wrong. My '87 190D can cruise all day
long at over 100mph without a problem other than bad fuel economy!
10 seconds 0-60 is really slow IMHO. My 190D feels almost as fast as
my '87 740 Turbo which was advertised to do 0-60 in 6.7 seconds. Both
have a curb

Ok, now I really need to weigh mine! We are only talking 200lbs, so it
probably has to do with the trim level. Although mine is a 190D turbo,
it is fairly bottom of the line as far as extra options like electric
seats, etc.

Haven't been writing too much. Mostly by the time I get around to

At least you have a nice place to stay while you are working on the palace.
Doing it with your own hands is good too. I've not attempted more than some
remodeling and installing a bathroom and septic system for it [though I did

My '83 240D needs waxing. I know a very good detailer and I want to use
Griotts or something similar in order to get the longest lasting job.
It has been an inside car all its life and I don't believe there is any
oxidation since recent body work (due to a parking lot scrape) can't be
found.

bought one of these Acer netbooks as they call it, for $299. It only

Because the wire or fiberglass is good in tension and takes up the load
from the concrete when the slab is in
There is a bolt pin done by the crank balancer that holds the rail in
place. Screw a bolt into it (or use the fancy Benz tool if you can
locate one) and pull the pin out to release the rail. You will need
to align the slot in the balancer with the pin to pull it.
